Igor Bragin is sure that modern Ukrainian cuisine will eventually take its place
in the world of gastronomy. Over the years of working as a Chef, he has had the pleasure of working with Japanese, French and Italian chefs, but Ukrainian cuisine has always been in his heart. Igor has managed to have good teachers and mentors during his career and he considers Sebastian Lepina as his most influential mentor. introducing him to the world of high cuisine. As well as holding the eponymous tltle of “Golden Chef of Ukraine” Igor is very proud to be President of the Association of Ukrainian Chefs, which unites more than 1000 chefs in Ukraine, all of who strive to improve the restaurant culture in Ukraine. Igor is especially proud that he founded the Culinary Academy in Kiyv, because through education and training we are creating a new generation of chefs.
Always inspiring the students to work with Ukrainian ingredients and its traditional cultures. “I recall a particularly memorable incident that reminded me why I am so proud to be Ukrainian. In 2017, my team and I presented modern Ukrainian cuisine at the exclusive Cercle Royal Gaulois Artistique & Literary in Brussels. Members of the Royal Club are government representatives, ambassadors, parliamentarians, university professors, business leaders, artists, writers. Therefore, the elite of society was invited to dinner, and this most critical audience recognized our work as a culinary excellence, and at the end of the dinner we enjoyed a standing ovation.” This was the moment that inspired Igor to further develop, popularize and spread modern Ukrainian cuisine to the wider world.
